According to the Lagos State
Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who represented Governor
Akinwunmi Ambode, at a stakeholders forum on Thursday noted that henceforth the
subject would be taught in primary and junior secondary schools across the
state.
She stated
that the subject will make them learn about the culture and the people’s
general way of life, adding that is it very important for every Yoruba child to
be able to speak the language fluently.
The deputy
governor stressed that the house will aid in making appropriate legislation
that would back up government efforts at making Yoruba language a compulsory
