The biggest names in the continent’s game past and present took to social media to pay their respects to the boxing icon

The world awoke to the tragic news of Muhammad Ali’s passing on Saturday, with the boxing great passing away after suffering from a respiratory illness.
The 74-year-old died at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, and prompted an outpouring of sentiment across the globe.
No less than American president Barack Obama was on hand to pay his respects, suggesting that Ali “shook up the world” while insisting that the world was better for the fighter’s contribution.
Football’s stars also paid their respects to the three-time world heavyweight champion, with the biggest names in the world game joining to honour ‘The Greatest’.
