As indicated by police reports, an assault has as happened at the oil office having a place with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) at Awarra, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo.
Andrew Enwerem, the police advertising officer in the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Owerri that the police got report of the assault in the early hours of Thursday.
Mr. Enwerem couldn't uncover the degree of harm done to the office or the gathering that completed the assault.
Valuable Okolobo, representative for SPDC said "the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP), which goes through Awara, Imo State at the Assa-Rumuekpe line, has been closed for repairs since June 8, taking after a break at Okolo dispatch, Bonny in Rivers State.
"We are researching the reported occurrence at Awara'', he said.
A source in Awarra people group told NAN that the episode happened at around 5.30a.m.
It said the blast made enormous fire at the site and couldn't affirm if there was death toll.
No gathering has asserted obligation regarding the assault.
