We Are Not Owing Shuaibu Amodu N25 Million – Edo Govt Says

Shuaibu-Amodu-NL

The Edo State Government has denied owing the late previous Chief Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Shuaibu Amodu, N25 million.

In an announcement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Peter Okhiria, on Wednesday, the administration portrayed as absolutely false and deceiving reports that the state government owed the late Amodu Shuaibu N25 million.

The Edo government likewise portrayed as patently false the substance of a letter available for use implied composed by the late Shuaibu Amodu, including that the letter contained cases that have no holding on for the money related exchanges of Edo State Government.

"All laborers, from least to the most generously compensated, including Committee Members are enlisted in our Oracle-based installment framework and we don't owe anybody," Okhiria expressed.

Here is the full articulation issued by the Edo government on the matter:

Amodu Shaibu: Our Story – Edo Govt

The consideration of Edo State Government has been attracted to a report in the daily papers and on a few online stages such that the State Government owed Mr. Amodu Shaibu, the Technical Director of the Nigerian Football Federation, who kicked the bucket in the night Friday, June 10, to the tune of N25 million.

Give us a chance to state from the onset that his demise is an immense misfortune to Edo State and Nigeria. We are sure that nobody can fill the void of the shoes deserted by Coach Shaibu. He was a glad Edo child as well as an immaculate man of honor, group pioneer among different reasons for living.

This is the reason he was welcome to work with our young footballers after he was unceremoniously mitigated of his arrangement as Coach having qualified Nigeria for the World Cup. We remain profoundly tormented by his extremely sudden and unfavorable demise.

The truths:

The late Amodu Shaibu worked with the State Government, on an altered term contract premise, as Consultant/Technical Adviser of Edo State Football Development Program, a Football Academy built up by the State Government to tap the gifts of Edo young people and transform them into world stars.

In yielding to his family, and having educated the Governor of how he was shabbily treated by the Nigerian Football Federation after the World Cup capability he secured for the country, furthermore conceding that the new occupation to deal with the State's Football Academy had lesser fascination than the National group Coach work he had, Amodu Shaibu was put on a month to month compensation of N2 million, which is hundred for every penny superior to what he was winning as Coach of the National Football group, furthermore making him the most generously compensated authority of the Edo State Government.

The said altered term contract was however not reestablished on termination in light of the waning incomes and the important cuts in government spending.

It is essential that a settled term contract closes naturally when the concurred end date is come to and the business doesn't need to give any notification. This implies an altered term contract is considered ended if not reestablished.

Regardless of the way that the said contract was not restored, the late Amodu Shaibu kept on drawing his month to month compensation of N2 million until it was ceased by the Office of the Accountant General in June, 2015, after the revelation after a staff biometric check exercise.

The late Amodu Shaibu from that point tendered his 'letter of abdication', in September 2015, notwithstanding when the said contract was not reestablished and had been esteemed ended, after its non-recharging.

In any case, on Wednesday, eighth June 2016, two days before his awful passing, the late Shaibu presented a letter to the Secretary to Edo State Government, dated same day, guaranteeing unpaid pay rates for four months, totaling N8 million as it were.

In the said letter entitled: "Acquiescence of Appointment as Consultant/Technical Adviser. Re: Request for Payment of Outstanding Salaries", Amodu Shaibu expressed, entomb alia:

"May I consciously review that I surrendered my arrangement as Consultant/Technical Adviser of Football Development in Edo State with impact from 30th September, 2015. The Resignation was as an aftereffect of my arrangement as Technical Director of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). The Governor benevolently endorsed this renunciation with impact from 30th September 2015.

"I unassumingly wish to educate the Governor that my month to month pay was halted by the Accountant-General with impact from June 2015. Subsequently, I was not paid for the month of June, July, August and September, 2015. The reason the Accountant-General gave for withholding my compensation for the period was that he expected the endorsement of the Governor broadening my agreement for the following year. Since I have surrendered my arrangement, there is no need now for such endorsement.

"Be that as it may, this letter is predicated on the requirement for the Accountant-General to pay my extraordinary pay rates for the time of June-September 2015. Accordingly, hence, I submissively wish to ask for the Governor to benevolent consider and favor the installment of my extraordinary pay rates for the period demonstrated previously."

In spite of the fact that the late Shaibu's agreement had since quite a while ago lapsed even before his 'Acquiescence Letter' which 'produced results' from September 30, 2015, and despite the fact that Edo State Government did not owe him unpaid wages as the agreement was not restored, the State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, be that as it may, endorsed his case for N8 million, simply on sympathetic grounds.

It is in this way absolutely false and misdirecting that the State Government owed the late Amodu Shaibu the entirety of N25 million. We, in this way, make strong to express that the substance of a letter available for use, purportedly composed by the late Shaibu Amodu, is patently false. The letter contains claims that have no holding on for the money related exchanges of Edo State Government. All specialists, from most reduced to the most generously compensated, including Committee Members are selected in our Oracle-based installment framework and we don't owe anybody.

While despite everything we grieve the sad downfall of this incredible Edo child and Nigerian, whose passing has left a profound opening in our souls and who contributed massively to Sports advancement in Edo State, this illumination has gotten to be important to put a conclusion to the deception and through and through lie being sold by political birds of prey who need to profit by Amodu Shaibu's demise by depicting the State Government in awful light.

It is terrible and pitiful that while Edolites and Nigerians are as yet grieving this awesome symbol, naughtiness producers have gotten down to business to procure from his passing by crying more than the deprived.

Indeed, even in death, Amodu Shaibu has our appreciation, tribute and solidarity.
