Ex-Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard says he has “options on and off the pitch” after announcing he will leave MLS club LA Galaxy.
Gerrard, 36, participated in Galaxy in 2015 and scored five objectives in 34 appearances amid two seasons in America. His agreement lapses one month from now."It's unquestionably not the end of me in football terms," said Gerrard, who has been connected with Newcastle and Celtic.
"I'm going home to invest energy with family and choose the best test."
"I have choices on the pitch, off the pitch and I have a touch of speculation to do throughout the following two, three weeks."
Universe were beaten on punishments by Colorado Rapids in the MLS Cup play-offs on 6 November and Gerrard conceded he was baffled at not satisfying his "target" of helping Bruce Arena's side win the trophy.
