The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Friday denied the online report which cited him, as saying that "Indians are purchasing over MTN Nigeria".
The announcement was supposedly made at an occasion sorted out by Center Proprietors Association of Nigeria (CPAN) wherein the delegate of the Honorable Minister purportedly put forth the expression. In an announcement by the Press Secretary to the Minister, Mr. Taye Akinyemi, Dr. Onu said he didn't make, neither did he approve anybody to make such outlandish proclamation for his sake.
''The consideration of the Federal Ministry of Science and innovation has been attracted to an online report citing the Minister Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu as saying that "Indians are purchasing over MTN Nigeria. The announcement peruses: ''For the records and for the shirking of uncertainty, the Minister did not make, neither did he approve anybody to make such unjustifiable declaration for his sake.
''As the Minister of science and innovation, Dr. Onu has been endeavoring to advance the utilization of science and innovation in country building. ''The authority of the Ministry being referred to left his brief and proper disciplinary measures will be brought in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.''
He charged MTN, the Indian Community and Members of general society to slight the data as there is no compelling reason to deceive Nigerians on any issues that are not upheld by irrefutable truths.''
