The Chairman of Kaga Local Government in Borno State, Alhaji Lawal Wasaram, yesterday, denied the case by the Nigerian Army that it had captured the Vice Chairman of the chamber, Malam Mustapha Bukar, for asserted connection with the Boko Haram group.
Wasaram, who put forth the dissent in an announcement in Maiduguri yesterday, said the assertion was untrue as well as an aggregate confusion of actualities. As per him, "the consideration of my committee has been attracted to an assertion made by the Theater Commander, Maj.- Gen. Fortunate Irabor, amid a live preparation on Operation Rescue Final, Wednesday.
"The military asserted that they had captured my Vice Chairman, Malam Mustapha Bukar, and that he is in their guardianship for association with Boko Haram. "I, accordingly, push that the report was untrue and aggregate confusion of realities. Neither my Vice Chairman nor councilors are being researched or kept over any criminal offense.
"We, accordingly, prompt that the military issue an announcement to disavow and excuse him from this genuine affirmation before it turns into a potential risk to his life and honesty. "We additionally lament that this affirmation was at that point publicized live on NTA, Channels and numerous online media." Reacting, Maj.- Gen.
Fortunate Irabor, the Theater Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, told newsmen that the claim was a slip-up. He said: "We have sorted this out since yesterday. The Vice Chairman of Bama Local Government Area is the one in our authority and at present being examined."
