Wayne Rooney has moved level with Sir Bobby Charlton as Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer.
The 31-year-old's FA Cup strike against Reading took him to 249 in 543 recreations, achieving the point of interest 215 matches and four seasons faster than Charlton.
The record had remained since 1973 yet Rooney now appears to be sure to beat it.
"This club is an enormous piece of my life and I'm regarded to be up there nearby Sir Bobby," said Rooney taking after the 4-0 win.
"It's a glad minute. To do it at a monstrous club like Manchester United, I'm enormously regarded."
Manager Jose Mourinho included: "A more exceptional day will arrive. It was awesome however I need one more objective! He is an astounding person in the gathering and we as a whole need him to do it. To have Wayne as the top scorer in a club like this is sublime for him."
In 2015, Rooney outperformed World Cup champ Charlton's England scoring record of 49 objectives and has since taken his count to 53.
The United historic point comes amid a season in which the England captain has been let well enough alone for the beginning line-up for both club and nation, his record-equalling goal being quite recently his fourth of the campaign.
