Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, has explained why he did not graduate from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).
He said the episode of Nigerian common war in 1967 made him and others move out of the then Eastern area.
Adeboye talked in Nsukka on Tuesday subsequent to being met with Honorary Degree of Doctorate of Divinity.
He reviewed that he picked up entrance into UNN in 1963 and his registration number was 1800.
He stated: "It was the request of the then legislative head of the Eastern district Chief Odumgwu Ojukwu that non Igbos ought to leave the East; that was the reason I completed at the University of Ibadan.
"I am cheerful that a legislative head of Enugu state went with me today to UNN while the then legislative leader of the Eastern district asked me to leave for good in view of common war; that is God for you.
"I am glad that the main degree I missed in UNN has been supplanted with privileged doctorate degree.
"I express gratitude toward UNN for discovering me deserving of this honor.''
Adeboye asked Nigerians who had not given their life to Jesus Christ to do as such, focusing on that life is useless without Christ.
"Kindly on the off chance that you have not given your life to Christ; don't sit around idly; do as such instantly as you go to the petition rally I am holding in this University after this honor", he said.
In his comments, UNN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba, said "This is honor is to a graduate of UNN in the branch of science until 1966.
"Today exceptional meeting is to reward greatness to man who through the blessing of Jesus has bestowed much to mankind."
