Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants his players to embrace the pressure of their Champions League last-16 tie against Monaco – even though he knows the club’s critics will “kill them” if they do not progress.
Ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Guardiola has won the opposition twice as a mentor, and never neglected to achieve the semi-finals in seven endeavors.
"To be here is difficult," he said.
"I need to persuade the players to appreciate that minute. It is lovely."
While Guardiola's past two businesses have been European champions 10 times between them, City achieved their first semi last season and have advanced to the knockout round just four circumstances.
