The Federal Government has been given a sound warning by Governor Ayodele Fayose that it cannot ban okada in his state.
Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors' Forum, Mr Ayodele Fayose has tested the Federal Government over its arrangement to boycott business cruiser, prevalently known as Okada in the nation. He said the choice by the administration is devilish.
In an announcement issued by its Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose, who was tending to Okada riders that greeted him in Ikere Ekiti on his way from Abuja on Saturday, said; "prohibition on Okada will exacerbate the nation's security circumstance since it will expel sustenances from the table of such a variety of individuals."
Talking further, he stated, "In Ekiti State, we won't boycott Okada on the grounds that it is a wellspring of vocation to a considerable measure of families. Why might anybody even examine such when government did not make elective livelihoods?"
He stated: "With this monetary retreat that is gnawing so hard, it is sheer inhumanity for the national government to try and consider sending Okada riders bankrupt as opposed to placing hardware in movement to check their abundances."
The representative, who guaranteed Okada riders in Ekiti State his proceeded with support and help, said; "The national government has no energy to boycott Okada in my State and under my supervision, nobody will keep Okada Riders from working the length of they don't conflict with the laws."
