A statue of Argentina and Barcelona genius footballer, Lionel Messi, was vandalized in Buenos Aires on Monday.
The figure, which was developed trying to persuade the five-time Ballon d'Or champ to come back to the national group amid his brief retirement from the Albiceleste this late spring, was discovered missing its top half.

The tribute to the Barcelona star was uncovered in 2016 by city chairman, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta, amid the battle to persuade Messi to turn around his global retirement taking after the Copa America last thrashing.
Be that as it may, authorities in the Argentine capital said repairs have as of now started.
"The statue of Lionel Messi succumbed to a demonstration of vandalism that left the footballer's figure without its top half. Its repair is presently being taken a shot at," the Buenos Aires city government said in an announcement.

The statue is situated on the "Paseo de la Gloria" with other Argentine athletic figures, for example, tennis champion, Gabriela Sabatini and NBA and best on the planet, Manu Ginobili among others.
