The world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, has confirmed that he will retire from athletics in August this year.
Bolt says he has accomplished all that he longed for and has no motivation to keep running.
The Jamaican sprinter was talking on celebrity main street at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco.
"I've recently done all that I needed to do in the game," Bolt told Reuters.
"I asked (previous U.S. sprinter) Michael Johnson a similar question, 'why did you resign when you were on top?'. He said the same — he had done all that he had needed to do in games so there was no motivation to remain in the game. Presently I comprehend what he implies.
"I simply needed to run and to be a piece of it. I needed to relax on the grounds that I wasn't at the level I would typically be. It was the first occasion when I had contended as of now of the year."
