Buhari Muhammad, the toddler whose stepmother cut off his gentials, has undergone the first corrective surgery on his penis.
Mariam Kolo, the Director-General of the state Child Rights Protection Agency said the surgery was done at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Bida, Niger.
It is the first in a progression of operation Buhari will require.
"He was worked upon by four neurologists and he is reacting to treatment.
"A few different tests will even now be directed to set him up for the following operation,'' Kolo said.
Muhammad's genital was cut off by his 17-year-old stride mother, Bara'atu Muhammad, when he was scarcely a month old.
